Tampa Bay Family Theater "is a program designed for children to have the opportunity to express and develop their talents through theatrical and musical arts." The group, founded by Amy and Tyler Leavitte, a graduate of Bloomingdale High School and a teacher at Progress Village Middle Magnet School of the Arts, is "to allow children to develop their talents, inspire creativity, and showcase performance."
The theater education group stages several shows a semester. with the next round of rehearsals starting August 27, 2009. For its upcoming season, the Tampa Bay Family Theater will be staging:
101 Dalmations, for children in kindergarten through grade 3;
Dear Edwina, for children in grades 4 through 8;
Once Upon a Murder, for children in grades 6 through 8; and
Antonio, Tell Me A Story, for high school students.
