Acoustic guitarist Kevin Potter performed at the Sept. 25, 2008 Thursday Night Live arts showcase at the Beaux Arts Gallery in Winthrop. Potter is a senior at the Blake High School magnet school program for the performing arts and aims to study music education at Florida State University.

Newly exhibiting Beaux Arts Gallery at Winthrop artist Ernesto Piloto Marquez, an artist-scultor. He also is a chocolatier, trained in Havana, Cuba.

David Bennett, a fine arts student at New College in Sarasota, Florida, says he has "doing art pretty seriously since high school." He is trained in painting, drawing and sculpting. Bennett attended the New World School of the Arts in Miami.

Artist David Bennett calls this piece, "The New Novel," and says it is based on the Winslow Homer piece of the same title. "I wanted to revist the themes and update it to be in line with modern society," Bennett said. "The shift of our attention for high-technology affects the way that we absorb information," Bennett said, "with the piece leaving it open-ended what the results of that could be in the long term."
