The 14th Annual Denizens Of The Deep Southern Family Fish Fry, hosted by the Brandon '86 Rotary Club, again drew more than 1,000 attendees. The event was held Nov. 1, 2008 at Rotary's Camp Florida in Brandon, at 1915 Camp Florida Road. Activities included live music by Otis and the Old School Band. Kids' activities included face-painting, bouncy castles and slide, magic and YMCA activities. Proceeds, including those from the extensive silent auction, were to benefit local charities, including: LifeCare of Brandon, Brandon Outreach Clinic, CAIR Flight, Cynthia Pinckney Ministries, Emergency Care Help Organization (ECHO), Everyday Blessings, I AM HOPE Cafe, Manna on Wheels, New Horizons Group Home, YMCA, Young Life, Cub Scout Pack 61, Brandon '86 Rotary Foundation, and Kids Charity of Tampa Bay.
