The Last Five Years, the story of a promising, yet failed, relationship, on stage at Riverview High School. Show dates are July 29 and 31, at 8 p.m., and Aug. 1 at 5 p.m.
Starring Mallory Quinn and Omar Montes, the two-person, contemporary song-cycle musical chronicles the live of a five-year relationship from beginning to marriage meltdown. The wife recounts her journey from the end of the relationship to its beginning, while the husband recounts his journey from joyful start to painful breakup. With books, music, and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown,
The Last Five Years is billed as "an intensely personal look at the relationship between a writer and an actress told from both points of view."
The 2010 Riverview production is directed by Janet Salem Frenkel, the founder of Take 2 The Stage, and music directed and conducted by John Owens Davis II, the band teacher at Riverview High. Technical direction is by Daron Hawkins, founder of Riverview Little Theatre and Riverview High's theater teacher. At the lighting board is Stephanie Walker. The deck crew is comprised of John and Ashley Modrow.
