StageDoor Performing Arts performers sing the title song from their summer production of The Sound of Music, which earned the group "Best Musical Vocal Group" in the 2009 Greater Brandon Fourth of July Parade. Awards were distributed by the Community Roundtable at the Center Place Fine Arts & Civic Association on July 8. The awards ceremony opened with Our Town Parade: United We Stand, a special presenation by Our Town Histories in affiliation with MyPaperNow.com.

Accepting on behalf of the StageDoor Performing Arts the parade award for Best Vocal Unit is Allison Duncan (as Maria, from The Sound of Music. With her is Janine Nickerson, vice president of the Community Roundtable, the group that runs the Greater Brandon Fourth of July Parade. She also was one of four judges at the 2009 parade. The other judges were George T. May IV, Earl Lennard, and Marlene Boggs.

Accepting on behalf of the Community Issues Council the parade award for Best Overall entry is Terry Kemple. With him is Janine Nickerson, vice president of the Community Roundtable.
