More than 250 people received the training and most of them showed up at the Boys & Girls Club on Nov. 27, 2008 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., dishing out meals and clothes, including socks, underwear and shoes. Kids had use of the playground and there was face painting and animal balloons by magician Robert Horning. Free hair cuts and information for community resources also were available.
"It's really awesome how the people come together abnd help us out," said Leroy Pinckney. "The volunteers, the sponsors, are really outstanding."
