The Boston brothers after finishing college "for five years drove around in our van selling T-shirts in college towns with very litle success," John Jacobs said in an interview at the Fourth Annual Life Is Good Pumpkin Festival at FishHawk, held Oct. 10, 2009. "After five years we finally came up with something people liked."

With hundreds of drawings on their apartment walls, friends one day took a special liking to "Jake," the face that today adorns Life Is Good T-shirts. "That guy's got something figured out," John Jacobs recalls the group saying. "He's got life figured out." Not long after that, the Jake-marked T-shirts went on sale. "That day changed our lives forever," John Jacobs added. "Every different kind of person bought that shirt. It really confirmed what we had been hoping, that people would find it refreshing we had something simple and something positive."

As for the secret to their success, John Jacobs said: "We didn't know how to run a business, we're not the smartest guys. We made lots of mistakes, but we asked a lot of questions."

The Giving Tee, on sale at the Fourth Annual LIfe is good® Pumpkin Festival at FishHawk. "Life is good® will donate 100% of its profit from the sale of this specially-designed Tee shirt to the LIFE IS GOOD FOUNDATION," reads the sticker to the shirt.

"Scream" is the theme for the pumpkin carved by Lucas Oldman, 8. "I just think the scream is cool!" Oldman said about his pumpkin festival creation.
