At "the new home of
Plant City Entertainment," the community theater troupe, now in its 30th season, is brining to the stage
Love, Sex and the IRS, a farce written by Billy Van Zandt and Jane Milmore. Directed by Clint Shepherd and assistant directed by Dodie White, the PCE show features, from left in front, Doug Buffaloe (Leslie Arthur), Jenny Morgan (Kate Dennis), Martin Lemaire (Jon Trachtman), Kim Miller (Jon's mother, Vivian Trachtman), and Tom Guerre (Floyd Spinner, the IRS man). In back, from left, Tom Mitchell (Mr. Jansen, the "redneck" landlord), Teala Longoria (Leslie's girlfriend Connie), and Larry Everhart (Arnold Grunion).
Synopsis:
LOVE, SEX AND THE I.R.S.
is a wild farce with twists of fate, sight gags, mistaken identities and hilarious comic lines. Jon Trachtman and Leslie Arthur are out-of-work musicians rooming together in New York City. To save money, Jon has been filing tax returns listing the pair as married. The day of reckoning comes when the Internal Revenue Service informs the "couple" they're going to be investigated by a Mr. Spinner. Leslie masquerades as a housewife, aided by Jon's fiancee, Kate. Complicating matters further, Leslie and Kate are having an affair, Jon's mother drops in unexpectedly to meet her son's fiancee, and Leslie's ex-girlfriend shows up demanding to know why Leslie has changed and won't see her anymore.

The new Plant City Entertainment theatre is at 101 N. Thomas Street in Plant City, directly across the street from the First Presbyterian Church, at 404 W. Reynolds Street. Tickets: General admission, $10. Seniors, 55 and older, and students through grade 12: $8.
Doors open at 7:00 P.M. for evening performances and at 1:00 P.M. for Sunday matinee.
