Plant City Parade Showcases Florida Strawberry Festival
(March 8, 2010)
Offering their observations of the 2010 Florida Strawberry Festival Parade are Kara, left, and 2009 Florida Strawberry Festival Queen Lauren Der, who said she has attended the parade annually. "I'm 20 and I think I've been here every year of my life," Der said. For Kara, it was her first time ever at the parade, which gave the two women collectively a unique perspective on the parade: old-timer and newbie.
"The charm [of the parade] is that we have floats and lots of people participating," Der said. "It's just a great way to spend the greatest day of the [Florida Strawberry] Festival and to see so many different people representing so many differnt parts of our town."
"I had a great time and I had so much fun," Kara added. "Just the music and watching the community come together."
