"Three years ago we felt we might feed 200 people and 50 came," said Francis Jacobs, with Skip Wilson, left, a member of teh First United Methodist Church of Brandon, and Kirk Dreiser, pastor at Limona Village Chapel. "We didn't have the credibility."
But once the group of United Methodist churches, known as the River of Life cluster, went to Cynthia Pinckney for assistance, the numbers grew dramatically, Jacobs added. "Cynthia said, 'Well, I'll teach you' and she has really taught us," Jacobs added at the Christmas 2008 dinner, where 28 tables seating at least eight people each were filled. "And we still have people waiting outside," Jacbos noted.
