The first-ever meeting of the newly launched Riverview Community Choir drew 22 people. including choral director Liz Stewart, who teaches chorus at Riverview High School.
"We can be as creative as we want with this choir, traditional or non-traditional," says Stewart, who met with the singers Sept. 9 in the chorus room at Riverview High. The group is open to singers of all ages and meets Thursday nights from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
The draw of choir "is that you become a family, a single unit of music," Stewart says. "There's a lot of heart, a lot of love that goes into it."
