Kim Mitchell took home top prize in the adult costume category at the Halloween party hosted by the Village Players at the James McCabe Theater in Valrico, Fla. The party drew young and old alike in a celebration of performance that featured the stand-up comedy and illusion talents of Vinnie Natale, with friends (from the Brandon Youth Theatre); Patrick Brown, as both Mr. Bones and Dr. Disecto; Sterling Steal; and Frank Velasco. The party drew attendees from numerous community theater groups in Hillsborough's East End, including Plant City Entertainment, now in its 30th season and opening next week in its new theater with "Love, Sex and the IRS," and The Frenzie Life Theatre, opening this month with "Dog Sees God" at the Barn Theatre at Winthrop. Also on tap were thespians from Stagedoor Performing Arts, Inc., which is in rehearsals with "Beauty and the Beast." Brandon Youth Theatre stages this month also "The Jungle Book," at One Thing Prayer Place, and "The Musical Magic of BYT," at the Barn Theatre at Winthrop.
