By LINDA CHION KENNEY (Posted Dec. 7): Prior to the lighting of the Christmas tree at Winthrop Town Centre, the Bloomingdale High School Ambassadors show choir and the chorus from Symmes Elementary School entertained. Following the lighting of the tree, the Grass Stains at Winthrop Holiday Film Classics series kicked off with a 7 p.m. showing of "Home Alone." The series continues Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. with "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." The series concludes Dec. 21 with the 7 p.m. showing of "It's A Wonderful Life." The series is sponsored by the Brandon/South Shore Times of the St. Petersburg Times. Also, Taylor Woodrow, the homebuilder at Winthrop, and vendors Anew Lifestyle & Wellness Solution and Heaven Scent Soap & Bath Boutique. Movies are shown on the east wall of the Winthrop Publix, at the southeast corner of Bloomingdale Avenue and Providence Road. There is no charge. For information, call: 813-601-3129.
