He thanked his cast and crew and his wife, Christina, who recently gave birth to the couple's second daughter. "She is everything to me," Jacoby said, noting that there were two shows he wanted to direct, "Noises Off' and "Glengarry Glen Ross." And, Jacoby added, "because of her I did both. I told her I wanted to fly a plane [and she arranged it]. I regretted not finishing college, and within a year I was back in college." Jacoby added that he was proud of the "Noises Off," a farce in three acts, and the acceptance it had. Gail Pierce, for her long-term involvement with the Village Players of Valrico, received the Hall of Fame award at the community theater company's annual MVP Awards ceremony, Feb. 21, 2009. "With 27 years of doing five shows a year, there are great memories and stories to tell," Pierce said in her acceptance speech, talking warmly of James McCabe, for whom the Village Players' theater was named posthumously. "I'm a proud momma," Pierce said of her work to help keep the James McCabe Theater going -- and standing -- through rough times. "If I had not stuck with it, you wouldn't have the opportunity. You took that opportunity and ran with it beyond my wildest dreams."
