In his title role, Sanders plays a morose and brooding barber by profession, newly arrived in London following an unjust incarceration in a penal colony for 15 years. As Nellie Lovett, Sivert plays a cheery, chatty (et wholly immoral)shopkeeper whose place of business and home-baked pies are coated in dust and plagued by flies. She hopes to become more than a landlady to Mr. Todd.
